Built in The Gambia, for businesses that answer their own customers
Sublex Chat is made by Sublex Digital, a web studio in The Gambia run by Nfamara Ceesay. We build websites for local businesses, and this came out of watching what happened after we handed them over.
Why it exists
The same thing kept happening. A clinic, a hardware shop, a school would get a good website, and then somebody would message at nine in the evening asking whether they were open on Saturday, or what a filling costs, or whether a size was in stock. By the morning that person had asked somebody else.
Nobody was going to hire a night shift to answer that. But every one of those questions was already answered somewhere on the website nobody reads. So the product does the obvious thing: it reads what the business has already written, and answers from that.
What it will not do
It answers from their material, or it says it does not know
It will not quote a price nobody gave it, confirm a booking it cannot see, or offer medical, legal or financial advice — not even when the business itself asks it to.
That is a deliberate limit and it costs us demos. An assistant that confidently invents an answer looks better for ten minutes and then tells somebody’s customer the wrong price.
Where it is going
WhatsApp is next, because in this market that is where the conversation actually happens. After that, a WordPress plugin and the things people keep asking for rather than the things that demo well. If something you need is missing, say so — at this size, the person reading your email is the person who would build it.
