Sublex Chat, a service of Sublex Digital Last updated: 14 August 2026
This notice explains the cookies and similar browser storage that Sublex Chat uses. The short version: we use only what is needed to sign you in and to make the chat work. There is no advertising, and no analytics or tracking.
1. Cookies we use on the Sublex Chat dashboard and site
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in / session cookies | Keep you signed in and secure between pages | Essential | Our authentication provider (Supabase) |
| Demo session cookie | Holds the temporary token for the "try it before you sign up" demo, so your trial assistant works across a few page loads | Essential / functional | Sublex Chat |
Country cookie (sx-country) | Remembers which country your connection appears to come from, for one hour, so the pricing page can show the payment methods that apply to you. No personal data: a two-letter country code | Functional | Sublex Chat |
Workspace cookie (sublex-org) | Remembers which of your workspaces you last opened, if you belong to more than one | Essential | Sublex Chat |
Password-reset cookie (sublex_pwreset) | Marks a browser that is in the middle of resetting a password, for a few minutes | Essential | Sublex Chat |
The dashboard also keeps two settings in your browser's own storage rather than in cookies: your light-or-dark theme choice, and whether handover alerts are switched on for you. Neither leaves your device.
These are strictly necessary for the service to function. Without them you could not stay signed in or run the demo. Because they are strictly necessary, they do not require a consent banner — which is why you do not see one.
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics scripts. Our error monitoring runs entirely on our servers, so it places no code and no cookies in your browser.
2. The chat widget on other businesses' websites
When you meet a Sublex-powered assistant on a business's own website, the widget does not set cookies. To make the conversation work, it uses your browser's own storage instead:
- Session storage (cleared when you close the tab): remembers the current
conversation thread and, if the business uses one, your pre-chat form entry, so a reply from a colleague reaches you and the panel does not reset as you browse.
- Local storage (kept on your device): a single marker recording that the
chat bubble has already been shown, so it is not re-announced to you every time.
This storage stays in your browser and is functional only — it is not used to track you across websites. Each business that runs an assistant is responsible for its own cookie and privacy notice on its own site.
3. Managing cookies and storage
You can control or clear cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings. Blocking the essential cookies in section 1 will stop the dashboard and the demo from working. Clearing the widget's storage simply starts a fresh conversation.
4. Changes and contact
We will update this notice if the cookies or storage we use change. Questions:
