Sublex Chat vs Tidio
A Tidio alternative where the AI is not a separate bill
Tidio is a good product with a large customer base, and if you want a mature flow builder and a big app marketplace it is a reasonable choice.
The reason people go looking for an alternative is not the plan price, which is the same on both. It is what the plan leaves out. On Tidio the AI agent is priced separately, and taking their badge off your site is another line item on top. Sublex Chat puts all of it in one number.
The second reason is what the assistant does when it does not know. Sublex Chat answers only from the material you gave it. It cannot improvise a price, an opening time or an appointment. When the answer is not there it says so, takes the customer's details, and logs the question for you to answer once.
An AI answering your customers, at the entry price
What each one adds up to in a month.
- Everything in one plan $24
Starter, billed yearly. The AI is in it.
- Starter plan $24.17
- Lyro AI agent $32.50
Both bars are annual rates, and on those the two base plans are within twenty pence of each other — the gap in the chart is Lyro, not the plan. On monthly billing the base plans are identical at $29. The badge is still on the site in both columns at this price: removing the Sublex Chat badge is the Business plan, and Tidio lists custom branding on Plus from $300 a month.

| What is being compared | Sublex Chat | Tidio |
|---|---|---|
| Entry paid plan | $29 a month, or $24 billed yearly | $29 a month, or $24.17 billed yearly |
| AI assistant | In every paid plan | Lyro is priced separately, from $32.50 a month on annual billing, after the free lifetime allowance |
| Remove the badge | Business plan, $79 a month or $66 billed yearly | Custom branding is listed on the Plus plan, from $300 a month |
| Live chat and human takeover | In the Business plan | In the plan |
| Free plan | 25 conversations a month | 50 billable conversations a month |
| What a conversation means | One visitor's whole sitting, counted only when the assistant answered | One thread, counted when a human agent sends at least one message |
Read the top row first, because it is a draw. The two entry plans cost the same: $29 a month either way, and $24 against $24.17 if the year is paid up front. The difference is not the price, it is what the price contains. Tidio's buys the live chat; answering questions automatically is Lyro, priced separately from $32.50 a month on annual billing, so the pair is past $56 before anyone has done anything. The Sublex Chat plan at the same headline number has the AI inside it.

The difference that is not about money
Sublex Chat cannot invent an answer. It reads your website, your documents and your price lists, and it answers from those and nothing else. When the answer is not in your material it tells the customer plainly, captures their number, and puts the question on a screen in your dashboard, in the customer's own words, with a button to answer it. Answer it once and it is never missed again.
That screen is the part existing customers say they would not give up. It is your customers telling you exactly what your website forgot to mention.
When Tidio is the better choice
- You want a visual flow builder. Tidio's Flows are mature and Sublex Chat has nothing like them. If your plan is to script branching conversations rather than have an assistant answer from your own material, pick Tidio.
- You need a big app marketplace. Tidio integrates with far more software than Sublex Chat does today.
- You have a large support team. Sublex Chat is built for a business without a support department, and its plans stop at 3 seats.
When Sublex Chat is the better choice
- You want one price with the AI, live chat, human takeover and badge removal all inside it.
- You would rather the assistant said “I do not know” than guessed, because you sell something where a wrong answer costs you.
- You want the list of questions it could not answer, so your website gets better every week.
- Your customers write in more than one language. Sublex Chat replies in whatever language the customer writes in, and the chat window itself ships in English, French, Arabic and Spanish with proper right to left layout for Arabic, on every plan including the free one.
Frequently asked
Is Sublex Chat cheaper than Tidio?
Not on the entry plan, where the two are the same price: $29 a month each, or $24 against Tidio's $24.17 if the year is paid up front. The difference appears once the assistant has to answer anything. On Tidio the Lyro AI agent is a separate subscription from $32.50 a month on annual billing, so a plan that answers questions automatically is about $56 a month. The Sublex Chat plan includes the AI at the same headline price. Tidio prices read from their pricing page with the billing toggle in both states, 1 September 2026.
Can I move my content across from Tidio?
There is nothing to migrate. Sublex Chat reads your website itself. Give it your web address, add any documents or price lists you already have, and it builds the assistant from those. Most businesses are answering customers within about fifteen minutes.
Does Sublex Chat have live chat and human takeover like Tidio?
Yes, on the Business plan. You take over any conversation mid flow and reply as yourself, and the assistant stays quiet on that thread until you hand it back. The customer never has to repeat themselves.
What happens when the assistant does not know the answer?
It says so, asks for the customer's contact details, and records the question for you. It does not guess. This is the main design difference between Sublex Chat and a general purpose chatbot.
How is a conversation counted?
One visitor's whole sitting is one conversation. A sitting ends after thirty minutes of quiet or fifteen messages, whichever comes first, and it only counts if the assistant actually answered something. There are no message credits to run out of halfway through a customer's question.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. Type your web address on the home page and watch it read your site and answer questions about your business. Setting it up on your own site needs an account, and every new account starts with 14 days of the full Business plan, free, with no card.
